Rate limits
Requests per minute by plan, and how to handle 429s.
| Plan | Requests / minute | Requests at the same time |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 60 | 2 |
| Starter | 300 | 20 |
| Growth | 450 | 30 |
| Pro | 600 | 40 |
| Scale | 1,200 | 60 |
Free endpoints count towards your plan's per-minute limit. Two of them also have their own, lower limits on every plan:
| Endpoint | Limit |
|---|---|
POST /companies/count | 30 per minute; 500 per day on the Free plan |
GET /companies/resolve | 60 per minute |
Every response includes these headers:
RateLimit-Limit: requests allowed per minuteRateLimit-Remaining: requests left in the current minuteRateLimit-Reset: seconds until the minute resetsX-Lookups-Remaining,X-Discoveries-Remaining: what's left of your allowances
Going over any limit, including too many requests at the same time, returns 429 rate-limited with a Retry-After
header in seconds. Wait that long, then retry with exponential backoff.
Rate limits are separate from allowances. Running out of an allowance returns 402, not 429.
